Dear Parents, Carers and Whānau, 

We are delighted to be back to business as usual after a short transition into Covid L2.   Thanks so much for your cooperation by minimising visits into the school and adopting our amended sign-in and school pickup procedures. 

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SCAN IN USING THE COVID APP WHEN YOU ARE AT THE SCHOOL GATE OR COMING TO THE OFFICE. 

Just in case we are ever suddenly faced with a L3 situation, as happened in Auckland, we need to identify any essential workers who may need to send their children to school.   

Please complete the google sheet to update your details if you are deemed an ESSENTIAL WORKER.  You will then be able to bring your child/ren to school in the event of a L3 lockdown.

Casual Vacancy Notice for our Board of Trustees 

Our Board of Trustees wishes to formally acknowledge the resignation of Sue McConnochie from the Board at the end of 2020.  We thank Sue for the commitment and passion she has invested during her years on our Board.

Casual Vacancy for a Parent Representative on the Board of Trustees. 

A casual vacancy has occurred on the school Board for an elected parent representative. 

The Board has decided to fill the vacancy by selection. 

If 10% or more eligible voters on the school roll ask the Board, within 28 days of this notice being published, to hold a by-election to fill the vacancy, then a by-election will be held. 

Request for a by-election should be sent by Thursday 18 March 2021 to:

Applications for Out of Zone Enrolments at Horsham Downs School Term 2, 2021.

Enrolment at Horsham Downs School is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available from the school office or on our web-site. 

Applications for out of zone places are now being invited for those students who will become eligible for enrolment during the period Monday 3 May 2021 to Fri 9 July 2021 (Term 2).  If you have not already submitted an enrolment form, please ensure that your on-line application for enrolment is completed through our school website.   Completion of this enrolment form is sufficient for your application to be considered.

The Board of Trustees has identified up to 6 spaces in Y5 and up to 10 spaces in Y7 for Term 2, 2021.

The deadline for receipt of applications for out of zone places is Friday 12 March 2021.   If a ballot for out of zone places is required, it will be held on Monday 15 March 2021.  Parents who have applied for enrolment will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held. 

Parents of students who live within our school zone and intend enrolling their child at any time during 2021 should notify the school immediately if they have not already done so.  This will allow us to plan appropriately for the coming year.

If you live in the new school zone, or outside of it, and have not yet signalled your intention to enrol your child in the next 12 months, please contact the school immediately to assist us to plan appropriately.

Parent Teacher Interviews - Yrs 4-7 -Lock in the Date 

These will be held in Weeks 9 and 10 of this term on 30 March and 8 April.  Full details of timings and booking will be sent out nearer to the time.  We look forward to seeing you and discussing your child/rens progress.

Parent Portal for School Account Payments

The Edge Student Management System used by the school has an online portal that enables authorised caregivers to view their child’s up-to-date account information.  It enables you to make online payments of your school accounts through either POLi or Credit Card facilities. 

Click on the link below to accesss the instructions on how to register for this portal.  There are also details of a Phone App which contains a simplified version of the portal but still gives full access to payment options. 

This is a voluntary registration.  School accounts can still be paid via the current method of internet banking or Eftpos, however we encourage you to sign up to reduce double handling of payment information in the school office.  Some elements in the parent portal are not currently available.
